WHAT ARE CUSTOM ORTHOTICS?

Our orthotics are custom made which means that each person that comes into our clinic has a unique prescribed orthoses which helps address their problem.
Custom orthotics are more durable, more comfortable and offer better control and correction than other orthotics.
Research has shown that custom orthotics are successful in reducing pain, relieving injuries and preventing further complications in the future.
Not all people need custom orthotics, this is why it is necessary to have an initial biomechanical assessment to determine whether custom orthotics are required as part of your management plan.

OVER THE COUNTER INSOLES VS. CUSTOM MADE ORTHOTICS
Over the counter insoles can be bought from chemists and some footwear stores. They are generic and usually follow the ‘one size fits all’ rule. Some people may find over the counter insoles comfortable and help relieve some of their symptoms. However, this effect may only be temporary and the device may not last long due to the materials they are made from. Having said this, if you experience pain and foot problems, custom orthotics may be more suitable for you.
